 Artist Statement:

I am a contemporary mixed media artist specializing in Abstract Realism. I tilt my head back, close my eyes and visualize. In so doing I see the shapes, colors, textures, and lines that reflect the paradigm of my life‘s experiences and mental schema. It is important for me to express these multifaceted emotions in my pieces bringing comfort, peace, and succor for myself and for viewers. My emphasis is on color, composition, visible textures, and depending on the piece– recognizable familiar imagery. In my art pieces, I will often include visual, poetry and various 3-D mixed media features along with my personal photography. I work within the mediums of Gouache, Watercolor, Acrylic & Fabric. I enjoy using the sewing needle as an extension of my paintbrush. 

The living impetus for me to continue in my art journey is love, appreciation and gratitude. Love for God and the people around me, appreciation for these precious moments that I’ve been given and gratitude for all the past experiences that have shaped me up to this day. I hope that when you view my work, you will pause and reflect perceiving your reasons and your why.
